With a rich background in Commercial Insurance and a passion for innovative solutions, Cheryl brings both expertise and enthusiasm to our team at MartinoWest. Following in the footsteps of her former colleague Denise, whom she worked with 20 years ago, Cheryl is excited to continue delivering exceptional service while bringing fresh perspectives to our organization.
“Workers’ Compensation insurance was my starting point in the business, and I always am drawn back to my roots,” Cheryl shares. What particularly drives her is the challenge of finding alternative, “out of the box” solutions for clients – something that aligns perfectly with MartinoWest’s approach.
As she steps into her new role, Cheryl is enthusiastic about implementing processes for our newly acquired agency management system and growing our book of business. Her meticulous approach, combined with her extensive industry experience, positions her perfectly to build upon the strong foundation our colleague Denise established.
Beyond her professional life, you might find her beachcombing along California’s North Coast, camping in the Sierra Foothills with her family, or crafting with her five grandchildren. A woman of many talents, she took up felting and quilling in 2020 and dreams of selling her creations online after retirement. Perhaps most surprisingly, she led a double life as a professional cook – “insurance by day, cook by night,” as she puts it.
When asked about the best advice she’s ever received, Cheryl shares a valuable lesson from her time at a small Sierra Foothills agency: “When we work with others, regardless of the capacity, it is your responsibility to see the best in them and to build them up.” This philosophy of treating everyone with grace – whether they’re a boss, employee, coworker, customer, or carrier partner – has served her well both professionally and personally.
